Teaching Artist Positions Available
Part-time Contractor
Based in Alexandria and Arlington
Megan's Marvelous Music is a small business that offers private voice and piano lessons to students of all ages in Alexandria and Arlington. Lessons are conducted in the student's home, and we organize at least two recitals annually. Due to our rapid growth, we are seeking part-time contractors to join our team of teaching artists.

The ideal candidate should have:
A degree in music (or currently pursuing a degree in music).
Reliable transportation and GPS navigation will be needed as they will be traveling to the students’ homes.
Availability after school hours (3:00 pm or later) on weekdays.
While none of our current teaching artists work weekends, there is interest from clients if you would like to teach on weekends.
Ability to maintain a consistent weekly lesson schedule.
Responsibilities of Teaching Artists include:
Communicating clearly and promptly responding to emails/texts with clients and Megan.
Scheduling lessons directly with clients, accommodating your availability.
Choosing appropriate method books and repertoire for your student's needs, with support and resources available from us as needed.
Keeping weekly attendance records.
Submitting invoices to Megan by the last day of each month.
Demonstrating a passion for nurturing students' musical growth while maintaining high expectations.
We are enthusiastic about supporting college music majors and new teachers in this role. Currently, we have a waitlist, particularly for beginning piano lessons. All applicants are subject to a background check.
